Weekend Fun!

As I mentioned on Friday Elizabeth, Joe, Abbigayle and Kendyll came up to visit this weekend.  We had a fantastic time...but I'm exhausted.  Between a few nights of going to bed at midnight or later and the time change...I'm pooped.  On Friday night we went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner, that's Elizabeth's favorite place, which just cracks me up.

Then on Saturday we went down to the Downtown Aquarium which is always great.  I've probably been there 5 or so times and it never gets old.  So if you're in the Denver area and looking for some fun and a great kid place...that's the place to go.  Don't let the line wrapped around the building scare you...it's like that every single time I've been there, but it goes pretty quickly.  Saturday night we walked around the mall for a bit and then went to Noodles & Company for dinner.  Of course, once we got there Abbigayle wanted a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets.  Neither on the menu.  She was happy with part of my salad and her meatballs on her spaghetti.  Kendyll of course is the best eater and was very pleased with his buttered noodles!  hehe...Geoff mentioned that we could roast marshmallows when we got home, which Abbigayle was NOT about to forget.  So when we got home around 9pm we HAD to roast marshmallows and make s'mores.  We have a little fire pit in our back yard, so we just used that.  Abbigayle kept saying, 'I love chocolate.' Haha...silly girl!  So with the time change it was 1am before we got to bed.

We got up bright and early on Sunday morning and headed to church.  I usually go to church on Saturday nights, but when I do manage to get my butt out of bed and go on Sunday's it's a treat.  The choir on Saturday nights is good...but it's only about 15 members deep.  The choir on Sunday is 50-75 people deep with instruments galore, it's glorious!  I'm an emotional person, I've learned to embrace it though.  If I get mad, I cry.  If I get too happy, I cry.  If I get sad, I really cry.  So me and co-worker always joke that we (she's emotional too) have to stay between a level of 3 and 7.  Anything below or above, we'll be crying.  So, yesterday the choir sang 'Oh, Happy Day' and they had a parishioner sing solo with the choir backing her up.  Oh...I was a 10 with joy, which meant I was crying!  Sheesh.  It reminded me of this....I LOVE Sister Act.

There was definitely some toe tapping and swaying going on in my church.  OH HAPPY DAY!!!  We then went to brunch at IHOP and then they had to hit the road!  =(  It was a great weekend!!
