Got LIT!

Last night I had my book club girls (LIT - Lost in Translation) over, as I had the March selection.  My good friend Angela, who's actually in a book club in Castle Rock, suggested Very Valentine, by Adriana Trigiani.  I LOVED it.  It was such a great, light hearted read and it's actually the first book of a trilogy so now I'm dying to read the
second book!  So, if you're looking for a
light hearted, funny, Italian family filled book, this is the one for you.  I loved Adraina's style of writing, she did such a wonderful job of literally painting the picture, she was so descriptive which made the experience even better.  I think overall, all the book club girls were pleased with the selection.  Yea!  For every book club 'discussion' night, we make dinner and then discuss the book.  Sometimes we try to 'theme' it, sometimes that's not possible.  But being this was an Italian themed book...I was more than happy to go Italian.  Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the actual food...I did manage to get a picture of dessert though.  I made creamy pesto linguine, a simple side salad, ciabatta bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip and tiramisu for dessert.  I was very pleased with how everything was.  (I did not make the bread or tiramisu...that's too much work!)  hehe...

On another note, Geoff went ice fishing today with his friend Jim.  With Spring only a few weeks away, ice fishing season is melting away.  Although he's thrilled for the ice to melt so he can take his boat out.  Double edged sword. He sent me this picture earlier today!

That's a really nice fish!  I stayed in the warmth of our home today while he fished on top of 22 inches of ice.  (No, thanks!) Sending me a picture suites me just fine.  It is pretty down there, however the wind always blows at hurricane force speeds, non-stop, and you're lucky to get above freezing.  Burrr..

Now on to my March Photo A Day Challenge...neighborhood.

Neighborhood
This is our lovely, little neighborhood.  I swear it'll be 4th of July before that snow in our front yard actually melts.  I did notice today in our backyard that our bulbs are starting to poke through the soil.  SPRING is on it's way, folks!  I'm ready for warmer weather...we haven't had a COLD winter like we've had in the past, but we've gotten quite a bit of snow...as you can see.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
