May the Odds be Ever in Your Favor

Last night, Geoff and I met up with our good friends John & Dana and we went to see The Hunger Games.  Dana and I are in the same book club, so of course we've read the whole trilogy and we were bursting at the seams with excitement to see the movie.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7.  I thought it was good, I wasn't disappointed, however the book was so much better.  There are so many details that get left out of the movie for obvious reasons like it not being a 6 hour movie.  In the book Katniss is telling the story, so you read/listen to what she's thinking, where in the movie none of that happens so I think you miss some key elements.  The whole time while she was doing things, I was filling in what I 'knew' she was thinking.  If that makes sense.  Also, for someone, like Geoff that hasn't read the books and knew absolutely nothing about the basics of the story he was confused!  He thought it was a combination of a fantasy and horror movie.  He liked parts of it...but wasn't overly thrilled.  It's been a few months since I read the books, so I'm interested in reading the books again to really compare the two.  Needless to say, it was good.  Would I go back to see it in the theatre, NO.  But glad I went to watch it and we had great company!

After the movie, we all went to The Rock, which is a wood fired pizza place that just opened.  It was good! The decor is a little rough, it's very 80's rock themed and it was very biker bar-ish and dark, but the pizza was really good.  Geoff said, he could've found his new favorite pizza place.  =)  I had the Founder's Pie which was a red sauce pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella and ricotta cheese.  It was delish.  Geoff had the Revolution Pie which had BBQ pulled pork, pineapples, roasted red and green peppers with The Rock’s own signature BBQ sauce.  Not my style...but he loved it.

March 28th:  Trash

When you imagine the Kentucky Derby you think...beautiful horses, big hats, the rich and famous and mint juleps.  Well...this my friends is what the 'infield' looks like.  They don't pick up the trash and that little trash barrel is suppose to collect trash for hundreds of thousands of people.  Yuck!

March 29th:  Feet

This was taken on our honeymoon!  Ahh...we were on CocoCay relaxing in the hammock, OH what I'd do to go back, soon!  =)
