Mt. Vernon Country Club

As I mentioned yesterday, this year for Denver Restaurant Week we took advantage of dinner at Mt. Vernon Country Club, where we got married 2 1/2 years ago!  We haven't been there since we got married so I was beyond excited to go see it again.  Literally, driving down the street and seeing the building in the distance gave me butterflies. (I know...sounds corny)  It was so hard for me to believe that the last time I was here...was one of the best days of my life, the day I married Geoff.

Hold on...let me back up.  When we got off the interstate there is a buffalo & elk ranch right on the corner, so of course, we HAD to stop there first and see the animals.  Which is fine...it's not very often that you see buffalo roaming.

Now, back to Mt. Vernon.  We just so happened to get a seat right by the window that overlooked the patio/deck where we got married.  I decided I would wait until 'after dinner' before I went outside to take pictures because you get a beautiful view of the city lights up there.  Not a good idea.  It was sooo cold and sooo windy that we literally lasted out there for about 5 seconds.  I was shaking, it was so cold, (you'll see proof in my blurry city lights picture) that I barely managed to click a few pictures.  Needless to say, we still had a great time.  It was great to be back.  The food was good (wasn't the BEST food EVER) but it was decent.

My very cold, shaking picture of the city from Mt. Vernon
