Of course, I started to panic and thought that we were going to be evacuated and what should I take? Bella, marriage license, passports, loan/house documents, computer, hard drive, camera, momentos...would I have time to get some clothes?? That was my thought. When I got home, we had plans to meet up with my Father-In-Law for dinner so I told Geoff maybe we should stay home, he said...'It'll be fine, the fire isn't close.' I thought, Geoff has to be right...I'm overreacting (I have the tendency to do on occasion). So, we left for dinner.
When dinner was coming to a close I realized I had 5 missed calls and numerous unanswered text messages. I went into a slight state of panic again and told Geoff we need to get home, NOW! So, we unfortunately had to cut our dinner short...thanks for stopping by to see us Gary! I sped home, I had a plan of exactly what to tell the police officer if I got pulled over.
"Sir, I'm so sorry, I know I was going 15 over the speed limit, however, you see that HUGE plume of smoke, well my house is down there and I need to check on it. If getting there 10 minutes sooner can insure that I save my dog and a few items, I would be forever grateful. Thank you for being so kind and compassionate Sir, have a wonderful day!"
This is how my brain works. HA!! So we get to the turn off to head to our house and the smoke is so thick that it looks like it's midnight and not 7pm. It got so thick that I literally started coughing and then I started crying. Thankfully, we arrived to our beautiful home that was untouched and thankfully the wind is blowing to the northeast so the smoke is settling a few miles north of us. It's scary, so scary! What is even scarier is that it's only March and we're already facing major forest fires. Please, pray for some rain. We're in need.

March 25th: Breakfast
This is a typical breakfast for me. Some type of cereal, I love cereal...I don't need anything else. I do put milk on my cereal, but shredded wheat isn't as pretty with milk. I also ALWAYS have chocolate milk. Chocolate milk is my coffee.
March 26th: Key
I found this key the other day...I got it from my friend Jamie in Jr. High. I loved Tweety Bird.
Just so everyone knows. Geoff, Bella and I are doing fine. We feel so blessed to have so many wonderful friends who have called to check on us and offered up bedrooms and basements in their homes. Thank you, we love you all!
