The wait is finally over. We are beyond thrilled to be having a sweet baby boy! Of course his Daddy is over the moon excited as is all of our family. Let me just start off by saying the 20 week ultrasound was unbelievable. Seeing all the fingers, toes, chambers of the heart, brain, everything...was breath-taking and brought tears of joy to my eyes. Seeing our baby boy make such strides in just 20 weeks was a beautiful sight. I don't think he was very fond of the ultra sound tech because she kept pushing and prodding at him...so he was super active and moving all over the place. I feel like we can finally start prepping for our little man. I have nursery ideas ready to go and I'm ready to hit the stores and get nursery furniture ordered!! No baby boy names yet...and even if we did know we wouldn't tell ya. :) We're opting to keep that a secret until our little prince arrives. About 131 days to go, but who's counting.
As for the big reveal to our family...we knew we were finding out days before Thanksgiving, which was great because then we'd be able to tell our families in person. So I ordered these sweet little scratch-off tickets from Enchanting by Design in Etsy.
They were perfect and our families loved them!
How far along? 21 Weeks
Baby Size: Banana - 10.5 inches and 12.7 oz.
Total weight gain: 12lbs
Maternity clothes? Officially in maternity clothes. Even the belly band is gonna be nixed...
Stretch marks? Smelling like a pina colata minus the alcohol of course. :)
Sleep: Still tossing and turning occasionally, but have found myself sleeping on my back more often than not, which is a HUGE change because I've always HATED sleeping on my back.
Best moment this week: I have to go back a week...seeing our baby boy and finding out he was a baby boy and sharing that news with our family was by far the best moment yet!
Miss Anything? I'm not much of a drinker...but this time a year a nice glass of white wine with friends is nice. I can wait though! :)
Movement: We have a crazy man on our hands! Totally depends on what I'm eating, but if it's got some type of sugar, baby is a mover and a shaker. I love it though. (Although I did think something was wrong the other night because he was moving so much!) haha!
Food cravings: Fruit snacks. I'm loving fruit snacks. I can't get enough. Eggnog is also a fav right now (although I always like eggnog). Yup, it's ultra-pasteurized.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I've been getting occasional queasiness lately...not sure what it's from. Not bad though.
Gender: Bouncing Baby BOY
Symptoms: Occasional cramping and back pains, but nothing else that I'm noticing.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On (if I don't drink enough water...they've been getting snug!)
Mood: Good! My poor Momma though, I keep telling her I feel like we don't have what we need for the baby. She keeps reassuring me that we've got some time. :)
Looking forward to: Starting on the nursery!!
