Weekend Recap and St. Patrick's Day

My parents came up this weekend...and I put them to work.  Just kidding.  My Dad actually had to work as he has an office up here, however me and my Mom did some relaxing!  (Sorta) We had our carpets cleaned on Friday, which makes this 'nesting' Momma such a happy, happy Momma.  After he was done my Mom and I decided to go look at some day cares for the little boy.  Sigh.

We found one that we really liked, one that would be okay and two others that won't even get a second look.  The latter of the two I walked away from really considering looking for a 'work from home' job, because there would be no possible way that I would leave my little boy there. Let me just say, finding a day care is extremely scary...you don't know who you can trust, if they'll take care of your baby, if they'll meet his needs.  I know there are so many wonderful day cares out there, but it's just a matter of finding them.  We'll get there and we know that God will lead us in the right direction, whichever direction that might be.  :)

Later that night we went to Virgillo's for dinner, which is a local pizzeria/Italian place.  Geoff and I have never been there and we actually regret it because it was really good!  Then on Saturday my Mom and I went for pedicures...oh it was heavenly.  My poor little toes needed some TLC.  Geoff and I then relaxed while my parents went out to do some shopping...I met up with my Mom later to go to church and after church we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, which never disappoints.  So, long story short...we had a great, relaxing weekend!!  Thank you Mom and Dad for everything!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day.  Geoff and I really don't go crazy for St. Patrick's, Geoff just usually requests corned beef and cabbage, which I can deal with.  (Once a year!) I was also in the mood for homemade bread of some-sort, so I made biscuits.  Not sure if that's an Irish thing.  Haha...they were good though, my first 'from scratch' biscuits!

Of course we couldn't go without dessert...and the only thing I could think of was a 'Shamrock Shake' so I created our own version.  I got some mint chocolate chip, Blue Bell Ice Cream and made some shakes.  They were delicious!!  (And yes, Blue Bell is the only way to go when you want ice cream...if you've never tried it, your life is not complete yet!  haha!)

So, that's what we were up to this weekend.  Hope you all had a great weekend!
