Slacker.

Sorry for my slacking habits of not blogging.  I have put limits on my Facebook intake...so that's not the reason.  To be quite frank...nothing really exciting has been going on.  Well...except for a few things.  So this past weekend my good friend and book clubber, Keechia had a birthday party.  We had a progressive dinner which was followed by dancing!  Seriously...AWESOME.  We started out at LoDo's for appetizers.  Simple...chips and dip, veggies...perfect.  Next up, Earls.  It's a great steakhouse downtown...I just had a pecan crusted chicken salad, but that was awesome.  The atmosphere is laid back, but sophisticated and they have an open air bar, which I was in awe of.  You can never skip dessert, right?  Nope...we headed back down 16th Street to the Cheesecake Factory.  I {heart} the Cheesecake Factory!  I was bound and determined to get carrot cake cheesecake.

On a side note...my little carrot cake cheesecake squares I made for Easter were an epic fail.  The carrot cake was super dry and the actual pieces of carrot were HARD.  It was bizarre.  I will attempt that combination another time.

Back to Keechia's party.  So I ordered carrot cake cheesecake...remind you I was with a party of about 14 and that was the ONLY cheesecake on their list of cheesecakes that was NOT available.  Are you freakin' kidding me, people?  So, I settled for some apple strudel cheesecake.  (I'm being stubborn, that apple one was pretty good).  After dessert we headed over to Cowboy Lounge for some dancing.  In the mean time we got a great dose of springtime in Colorado.  It started to rain/sleet pretty steadily, but that wasn't going to hold us back.  Cowboy Lounge is a great bar...for people that like country music as well and what's current.  They play a great mix of both.  So you can line dance one song and booty shake the next.  Ha.  It's a great time.  As midnight rolled around Dana and I decided to leave as it was getting extremely hot and crowded in the bar.  I'm 26 years old and complaining about the heat in a bar.  Goodness..the suburbs are getting to me!

Dana and I walked out of CL and quarter sized snow/slush was falling from the sky.  So we were happy we decided to leave...just in case of crazy weather.  Well, the further south I got the harder the snow began to fall.  At one point the snow/slush flakes were nearly as big as dollar bills.  I started to have a panic attack and wanted to hear my husbands voice just to calm me down.  I knew if I talked to him...he'd be able to comfort me in knowing if I went off the road or something, he'd know where I was.  However...homeboy was snoring away at midnight!  LOL.  For some unknown reason I decided to call our home phone (yes we still have one) and he picked up on the first ring.  Thank the good Lord!  What is usually a 25-30 minute drive from Dana's house...was now more like 50-60 minutes.  Yikes.  But...overall it was a great night!

Oh...here's something else that's exciting!  Geoff's boat is nearly complete.  He's taking it to a boat shop to get a few things fixed, then all we have to do it register it and BOTTA-BING!  Boo-yah!  Da boat is done.  Thank goodness.  I feel like we've had it for eons now.
