His appointment went really great...he's a healthy, happy baby and we couldn't ask for much more. We're so, so blessed. His skin is probably the most challenging thing that we've had to deal with. Our pediatrician confirmed that Brayden has eczema. We were pretty sure this was the case, but we were hoping it wasn't. In most cases, he'll be a teenager before it'll go away. Ugh. So, he's pretty much a little grease ball right now. His body is always lathered in aquaphor and his little head is slathered in coconut oil. He also has a mild case of cradle cap, so we're working through that. Nothing to make a fuss over, but I'm just hoping I can get a handle on all of it so he's not itching and scratching all the time.
So July was a pretty quiet month as far as visitors and traveling. However, Brayden made some pretty huge strides this month. First, he celebrated his first 4th of July! Slept right through the fireworks like a champ. Haha!
He started to really grab objects this month. He has a few toys that he'll grab and then they go strait for his mouth. Also, mid-month he rolled from his back to his belly...I got it on video. Yea! He now does it ALL the time. It's hard to keep him off his belly. He still hasn't totally figured out how to roll back onto his back, so after while, he'll start getting mad. He also lifts his little butt in the air when he's on his belly and has managed to roll himself back to his back, if he's lucky!
Here's a biggie! On the 16th of July he slept through the night...holy smokes. I can remember waking up, checking on him and then I woke up Geoff and said, 'he slept through the night!' haha. I literally felt like a million bucks...however, for those of you that know about breastfeeding, you'd know that I was in quite a bit of pain, but it was worth it! Haha. We've had some on and off nights, but for the most part I'm still getting up once a night to feed him. Which isn't a huge deal.
Of course he's talking like crazy and has just started to mimic us every once in a while. It's too cute. He also has officially started laughing, you've really got to get him going, but it's the cutest thing ever. He is fighting naps now...already...he just wants to hang out with us and the thought of missing something is killing him. He loves his play mats now and reaches for everything that dangles by him.
