Springtime Surprise

Look at the bee!
We have recently been teased with a lot of spring-like weather.  We’ve had numerous 60 degree days and have even hit 70 a few times as well.  However, being a Colorado native it’s always in the back of my mind as to 'when' (not if) Old Man Winter will strike again.

Yes, the weather has been beautiful; however we’ve managed to also have a pretty dry winter and no precipitation since then which is becoming a little scary.  We’ve had 2 pretty serious fires near the Denver in the past few weeks.  So yes, I’m praying for rain.

With all that being said…my outdoorsman and I were greeted with a wonderful surprise last weekend.  We moved into our house in July of last year, so we didn’t get to experience the spring.  When we moved in the yard was beautiful, but we talked about how there were no flowers, it was all greenery.  (Which is fine)  However, we’ve been very pleased this spring to see TONS of tulips, daffodils and some other purple and pink flowers.  (Maybe you can help me out with what type they are?)  The other day Geoff mentioned that some of the flowers had bloomed.  I was thrilled beyond belief and instantly pulled my camera out, blew the dust off of it and starting clicking away.

Thanks to my Grandma Jackie I was taught that some flowers will open in the morning sunshine and close up in the afternoon/evening.  So I also made sure to run outside before leaving for work this morning to snap a few more shots of our beautiful flowers.  I just wanted to share their beauty with you before they blow away with our hurricane force winds we’ve been having.  So, enjoy…spring has arrived, I do believe!
