Brayden - 3 Months

(I'm terrible about getting around to doing this...as I almost have a 4 month old now!)

I remember when I was pregnant I read something that said you no longer have an newborn when your baby turns 3 months.  Well folks, I officially have an infant...a newborn no longer.  Yowza!  My sweet boy is doing so well, we've had a few pretty big things happen this month.  He didn't have an official check-up at the pediatricians office, but me and Geoff measured and weighed him.  Our scale has always weighted him a little heavy, but we'll see!

Weight:  15lbs.
Length:  24in.

First, (and by far the most heartbreaking) I went back to work in mid-June.  Taking him to daycare on that first day, was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.  I felt like I was abandoning him and I was an awful mother for having to do that.  That first week was really tough.  Not only on me, but Brayden had quite the adjustment.  He was not sleeping at all...like 30 minutes a day, so by the time I'd get him home, he'd be so fussy and irritated that it would take some time for me to get him calmed back down.  Then during the second week that he was there he caught a cold...oh the joys of daycare.  The plus side is I know his teachers love him and he's being very well taken care of.

Brayden is only getting up once a night to feed.  Which I can totally tolerate and during the day he eats every 3 hours...on the dot!  Haha.  He is talking like a wild man!  My parents joke that he got the 'gift of gab' from Geoff.

He found his hands!!  It was the cutest thing EVER!  He puts them right in front of his face and just examines them and then of course they go right into his mouth.  They must be tasty little hands.  He still LOVES for us to read to him and his play mats are becoming so much more fun.  He tries to grab stuff and has a great little time!  Whenever he gets excited he kicks his little feet and starts breathing quicker!  When we stick our tongues out at him, he usually does it back as he thinks his tongue is very interesting right now as well!  He's also officially able to roll from his back to his side.

He went on his first road trip back to Ignacio.  He was a little rock star!  He did so good in the truck.  On our way down there we left at 3am, as we knew we would have a few hours before he got up again, which was perfect.  We slept at Grandma and Papa's house and had a great time!

Here are his 3 month pictures.

Other random pictures and happenings in June.

You went on your first 'road trip' in June to visit family.  You met your Great Grandma Adela.

You also met your Great Grandma Janis.  She flew into Bayfield from Hemet, CA to meet you!

You also got to meet your Aunt Amy and your cousins, Ray, Randy & Ryan.

Seriously?  Melts my heart every time!
