Rolling In the Deep

What a great weekend it has been so far!  My parents came up on Friday morning because my Dad had some business meetings he had to attend, so they decided to make a weekend out of it.  Yea!  I haven't seen my parents since Christmas...for some that may seem like FOREVER, for others that may seem like it was 'only 5 months' ago.  To me...it seemed like FOREVER.  Haha.  So needless to say, I was very excited that they were coming to stay.  On Friday afternoon we literally sat on the back porch, played with Bella and watered the lawn.  It's the simple things in life...I tell ya!  As soon as Geoff got off work we met him at a local pizza place...either we were really hungry or the pizza was delish.  I'm hoping it was the latter of those two.  Let me remind you that when they got here on Friday it was 88 degrees and sunny.  When we woke up yesterday (Saturday) morning it was 50 some degrees, pouring rain and cloudy.  Blah!  The night before we planned that Geoff & my Dad were going to go fishing in the morning and then me and my Mom would go get a pedicure...we are both in DIRE need of pedi's.  Haha.  However the rain put a damper in those plans...so we ended up at Bass Pro Shops.  Really?  We survived and then we headed over to Toby Keith's, I Love This Bar for lunch.  (It was average, nothing spectacular)  Finally, the sun started to peak through the clouds, so we headed home and Geoff & my Dad went fishing and me and my Mom headed to church and then off to run a few errands.  I called, 3 different nail salons hoping they stayed open past 6pm...but no luck.  Shucks!  My Mom and I came back home and took Bella on a nice little walk and then we met my Dad & Geoff at Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

When I was in school, my Mom had to drive me 12 or so miles every day to school and I always enjoyed that time in the car with her.  I can VIVIDLY remember us blasting the radio and singing Celine Dion or Billy Ocean's Get Out of My Dreams.  haha.  We would work on breath control and see if we could hit the high notes!

On our drive to Texas Roadhouse we put Adele's CD in and blasted the radio.  We were hitting the high notes and I swear we sounded exactly like her!  LOL.  What a great time!
My parents are actually pretty young...just thought this was cute!

Then this morning...I had a slight break down.  I knew my parents were going to leave first thing this morning because they had stuff to do when they got home, they talked about leaving around 7am.  So, I got up at 6:45am thinking I could spend a few minutes with them before they left and tell them bye.  When I woke up, I found a very sweet little note from my Mom that started off by saying, 'Hated to wake you.'

So, I just started CRYING!  I felt awful that I didn't get up and come to find out my Mom knocked on our bedroom door a few times and neither Geoff or I heard it.  Oh goodness.  I called my Mom and like always...she brought me back down.

I can't even begin to tell you how lucky I feel to have such awesome parents.  I know that no matter what happens my parents will ALWAYS be there.  They have taught me how to live, how to love and how to laugh.  I think to myself...one day when I become a parent if I can be 'HALF' the parent that my parents are...I'll be doing good!  The thing that makes me feel even better is that they have accepted and loved Geoff as one of their own.  They have been there for the both of us emotionally, financially, physically and most importantly they never stopped loving us.  Seriously, I have the BEST parents in the WORLD.

Have a great Sunday!
